This makes our country vulnerable from cybercrimes and thus Cyber security plays a very important role in protecting our information from cyber attackers who can easily steal and destroy highly classified information. Many business organizations have installed various antivirus software’s and firewalls to protect their systems from cybercrimes but these are not enough to protect their data from stealing. They need to take reasonable steps to protect their data systems and privacy of their clients.
Cyber security depends upon the decisions that people take during the installation and setting up of the computers and internet. Cyber-security covers physical protection (both hardware and software) of personal information and technology resources from unauthorized access which is gained through technological means. Albert Einstein was quoted as saying ”Problems cannot be solved with the same level of awareness that created them”.
The problem of End-User mistakes cannot be solved by adding more technology; it has to be solved with a joint effort and partnership between the Information Technology community as well as the general business community.ObjectivesThe main objectives of the study are:To analyse increasing cybercrimes in our country and problems associated with it To create awareness about cyber securityLiterature reviewRavi Sharma (2012),analysed the increasing cybercrimes for the years 2008-2011. His study suggest us the importance of cyber security and the issues that we are facing towards cyber security. It also comprises of the various counter measure techniques that we can use to protect our systems and also it tells us the government’s response towards this issue. They prepared a comprehensive study by introducing communication architecture and security requirements and also analysed the security problems in the industries by taking various case studies. They also discussed the attack prevention and defensive approaches against cyber attacks. They also examined the working of various computer networks and their role in protecting us from cyber crimes. Jemal abawjya (2012) studied the need for spreading awareness about cyber security.
He also conducted survey through which he examined the approaches that can be used to spread awareness and also told us about the delivery method which is best for communicating with the users. The results of the survey shows that the video presentation is the most preferred method to spread awareness after which participants will have a clear understanding about the best ways to minimize dangers.Cybercrimes in India From last 3 years cybercrimes in India have been risen by 300%.
