PHOTOSHOPPING SHOULD BE BANNED
Around 70% of high school girls feel like they are not good enough when it comes to their appearances. Why you ask? Photoshop. Photoshopping has been normal now for many years, used not only by the fashion and makeup industries, but by just about every other industry that works with printing media. However, it has a very clear and detrimental effect on girls and young women, as well as boys and young men. With children and young adults connected on everything these days, they will always be subjected to the false, unrealistic and unattainable pictures of models.
Photoshopping is essentially false advertising. Images are designed to look real so people can’t always tell when they are fake
Consequently, photoshopped images set unrealistic body expectations for teenagers.
Because of this, photoshop lowers the already lowered self esteem of young people.
Moreover, there is a strong link between photoshop and eating disorders.
