The first amendment states that all U.S citizens have freedom of religion, petition, assembly, press and speech. The first amendment was adopted over two hundred years of American history. Throughout this period of time people have questioned the extent of freedom that they were given through the first amendment. The U.S government has also alter freedom of speech in court variety of times whether it is diminishing the power of free speech or expanding the rights that were given with the free of speech. If the U.S government can’t seem to make a final conclusion to this, just imagine the confusion of society. This is why there is always outrageous debates and protest going on because people have the liberty to speak up.
