students rely on the web that provides accessibility and answers to information
on social media. This means that we have reduced the focus on learning and maintaining information.

3.      Our
ability to retain information has declined. As we have become accustomed to the
ease of accessing social media information, our motivation to spend a lot of
time investigating and searching for good information has decreased.

4.      Students,
who attempt multi-tasking to check social media sites during learning will have
a poor academic record. The distraction afforded by YouTube, Facebook, or
Twitter greatly reduces the ability to focus on the task at hand.

5.      The
more time students spend on social sites, the less time for socializing.
Because social networking sites do not have physical signals or other nonverbal
clues, it is not an appropriate alternative for face-to-face communication.
Students who spend a great deal of time on social networking cannot communicate effectively.

6.      Due
to the degree to which personal information can be used online and the
anonymity that the internet seems to provide, students forget to forget the
necessity of filtering the posted information. Many universities and potential
employers will investigate the applicant’s social networking profile before
giving an acceptance or interview. Most students do not constantly evaluate
content that is online, this may have a negative effect for months or a few
